



When she was eight, she auditioned for a spot on the Disney Channel's The New Mickey Mouse Club. Spears did not get the part, but she did eventually achieve one childhood dream: showcasing her vocal talents on the popular entertainment competition Star Search in 1992.
After being discovered in a nationwide talent search, she began her presenting career in 1998, at the age of 16, with early morning GMTV children's show The Disney Club and later Diggit. She soon found herself fronting several children's programmes for CITV, including Draw Your Own Toons and Mouse, a show aimed at encouraging children to use computers.
In 2002 she presented Finger Tips, an arts and crafts programmer for children, with co-presenter Stephen Mulhern. In 2003 Cotton started presenting Top of the Pops:Saturday with her The Saturday Show co-presenter, Simon Grant.
The singer will be starring as a naval officer in the action flick, which is loosely based on the popular board game, and it follows an international fleet coming together to save earth from alien invaders.
