For more than a decade, Britney Spears has been one of the most successful—and sometimes controversial—solo acts in popular music. For a time, however, she was better known for her personal struggles. Spears launched her latest comeback in 2008, releasing a new album and setting out on a world tour.
The middle of the three children, Spears developed an interest in performing at a young age. "Ever since I was 7 or 8 years old, my mom would have company over, and I was always performing for everybody in front of the TV. . .Even when I went to school, I was always the weird child; I would go outside and instead of playing, I wanted to have 'Star Search' competitions," Spears told Hollywood Reporter.
When she was eight, she auditioned for a spot on the Disney Channel's The New Mickey Mouse Club. Spears did not get the part, but she did eventually achieve one childhood dream: showcasing her vocal talents on the popular entertainment competition Star Search in 1992.

Fearne Cotton is an English television presenter and DJ. Born in North wood, London, she grew up in the north-west London suburb of East cote. She was raised by Lyn and Mick Cotton, and has a younger brother called Jamie. Self-described as a "mouthy little girl", Cotton began taking ballet classes from the age of five and attended weekend drama school at ten.
After being discovered in a nationwide talent search, she began her presenting career in 1998, at the age of 16, with early morning GMTV children's show The Disney Club and later Diggit. Barbadian singer Rihanna was spotted showing off her bikini body and a new pistol tattoo on her thigh while on holiday in Honolulu, Hawaii. Rihanna, 22, who already has over a dozen tattoos on her body, got the new addition, which is not permanent, for her role in the movie Battleship,
which she is currently shooting, the Daily Mail reported.
The singer will be starring as a naval officer in the action flick, which is loosely based on the popular board game, and it follows an international fleet coming together to save earth from alien invaders.
Rihanna the movie will also star True Blood actor Alexander skarsgard and Friday Night Lights star Taylor Kitsch, as fellow naval officers alongside model Brooklyn Decker, and is expected to be released in 2012.
